measuring volumes of irregular objects[edit]

This does not warrant listing as a separate use of graduated cylinders in the lede. That use is explained in the article, and it is not correct to say that the graduated cylinder is used to measured the volume of the object directly. It measures the volume of the displaced liquid. It is still just measuring the volume of a liquid. There are lots of other potential uses for graduated cylinders (drinking beer, holding flowers, replacing measuring cups in the kitchen, etc.) that we don't mention at all in the article, and they don't need to be there. If anyone thinks that "or the volume of an irregularly shaped object" should be in the lede please explain why. Meters (talk) 03:46, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
