I don't know anything about these ESA's, but I have some questions that might help flesh out the article further. Exactly what kind of protection do these areas need? Regulatory protection, protection from erosion, from coyotes, from hunters, from acid rain, from urban sprawl? Several of the above? What sorts of practices are considered environmentally friendly and therefore encouraged? Have ESA's been used very long? Are they generally considered successful, a failure, or is their effectiveness controversial? Just curious, Wesley
