File:MI5.jpg
Original MI5 logo. Believed to be pre-1955 or as part of her 1950's to 1970's official insignia [citation needed] It features the 'Eye of Providence', also known as the 'all-seeing eye'.

Should the MI5/SS logo be mentioned in this article? I believe it is pre-1955 but have also read that it was used from the 1950's to 1970's. Any more information on this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.96.24.33 (talkcontribs) 21:42, 21 January 2009

Thames House, present before past[edit]

Old version:

Thames House was, until March 2013, shared with the Northern Ireland Office (NIO) and is also home to the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre, a subordinate organisation to the Security Service.

New version (now joined to previous sentence with a colon):

The service has had a national headquarters at Thames House on Millbank in London since 1995, drawing together personnel from a number of locations into a single HQ facility: Thames House also houses the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre, a subordinate organisation to the Security Service; prior to March 2013, Thames House additionally housed the Northern Ireland Office (NIO).

It just seemed weird (and strangely indirect and emotionally loaded) to emphasize the past before the present.

Just a live proposal; revise at will. — MaxEnt 16:09, 15 March 2018 (UTC)

Wikipedia heyday relic tailing lead[edit]

Plans to open the northern operations centre were reported by The Manchester Evening News in February 2005, and plans to open a permanent Scottish office in Glasgow were reported by The Scotsman in January of that year.

This seems like old news to me. I nominate deletion. — MaxEnt 16:13, 15 March 2018 (UTC)

Official Secrets Act[edit]

What is the point of 'All employees of the service are bound by the Official Secrets Act'? It's the law, all of us in the UK are bound by it. 31.52.252.166 (talk) 20:42, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
